The 26th International Competition of Musicians, Performers, and Teachers "Technique and Style," organized and chaired by Svetlana Karas, Professor of the Department of Piano and String Instruments at Moscow State Institute of Culture, was held on May 30 and 31, 2026, at the P.I. Jurgenson Music Library.
Over 300 applications were received for the competition. Eighty-two participants, including students from Moscow State Institute of Culture, were admitted to the second round.
The winners were students from the class of Associate Professor Albina Chabaeva and Associate Professor Nikita Vlasov.
The vibrant performance of the Vladimir Poldyaev Folk Instrument Ensemble "Lira," directed by Raisa Poldyaeva, a graduate of Professor Svetlana Karas's class, was met with thunderous and prolonged applause.
The final round of the competition will be held in Burgas, Bulgaria, on July 3 and 4 of this year. The jury is headed by Professor Svetlana Karas. We wish the competition participants every success!
